During the clubs history various sports clothing brands have been used as the basis for player shirts and kit. More recently coaching shirts have been added to bring consistency of style to the club's official apparel to allow the club to unify under a single style.
Additionally, Dovery Down Dynamos is almost unique among the local clubs in that not only is a kit provided to players in the Year 1 to Year 4 squads, they all get customised names and numbers which are chosen by players and parents. This has been view as an extra touch of specialness to reflect the fantastic efforts put in by our players and helps parents to demonstrate how proud they are of their player children.
The new kit will be based on a design from JOMA and provides similar if not better quality than the existing Nike based kit but they are more affordable meaning if parents wish to purchase spare club clothing they can do so. In addition, the club will be making avilable other merchandising ranging from replica shirts, to jackets, hoodies, hats etc. In time, if demand is shown, other items like umbrellas, scarfs, gloves, footballs etc will be made available.
This new kit design is made possible by a new sponsorship deal signed with a local sports and fitness company - Paramount Parkour - and means that we can refresh the older kit that has become degraded through the normal wear and tear of training and playing. We are looking to select shorts and socks to match the new design which will be predominantly royal blue in colour so that players can re-use their existing Nike based shorts and socks if they want to.
The JOMA design will also provide us with a longer lifetime for the base design - 5 years or more compared to the typical 2-3 year refresh cycle for Nike kit which forces an unwarranted change as seen in last seasons Year 1 kit which looked diffferent from the other club squads. This will help us maintain the look of our teams for longer which in turn will help build camaraderie.
We will be sending out new subscription forms to all parents so that if you wish to make a change to the name and number on the back of your child's shirts you can do so.
